Oh, Adele...
I'd trade my very own pipes for her's in an instant.

The Cripple of The Irishmaan

My friend Jack invited me to join him today at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre for the last performance of 'The Cripple of The Irishmaan.' I had read the synopsis beforehand, but was still not exactly sure what to expect.

I really enjoyed this black comedy. I thought the set was excellent, and the lighting lent itself quite well to the tone and setting of the show. The actors were excellent, as was the script. I just had an all-around great time. We had great seats, though I'm not really sure there is a bad seat in the house.

It had been an extremely long time since I last went to see a play. It's always good for me to step foot inside a theatre and remind myself of what brings me joy in life, and who I really am. Theatre is in my blood, and it had always motivated me and brought me great joy. This was just a reminder of what my passion is, and what I should start focusing on again.

Earth Hour

It's easy for all of us to forget or ignore what sort of impact we all have on the condition of the environment. That being said, if you take the time to educate yourself about the things you can do to make a difference, you'd be surprised about how simple some of the steps are you can take that will truly make an impact. One example? Earth Hour. What is Earth Hour? Well... here is a bit of history about the day from the official Earth Hour Website (http://www.earthhour.org/Homepage.aspx?intro=no)...
Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand against climate change. Only a year later and Earth Hour had become a global sustainability movement with more than 50 million people across 35 countries/territories participating. Global landmarks such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, CN Tower in Toronto, Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and Rome’s Colosseum, all stood in darkness, as symbols of hope for a cause that grows more urgent by the hour.
In March 2009, hundreds of millions of people took part in the third Earth Hour. Over 4000 cities in 88 countries/territories officially switched off to pledge their support for the planet, making Earth Hour 2009 the world’s largest global climate change initiative.
On Saturday 27 March, Earth Hour 2010 became the biggest Earth Hour ever. A record 128 countries and territories joined the global display of climate action. Iconic buildings and landmarks from Asia Pacific to Europe and Africa to the Americas switched off. People across the world from all walks of life turned off their lights and came together in celebration and contemplation of the one thing we all have in common – our planet.
Earth Hour 2011 will take place on Saturday 26 March at 8.30PM (local time). This Earth Hour we want you to go beyond the hour, so after the lights go back on think about what else you can do to make a difference. Together our actions add up.

Blue bird

I have recently found myself in a bit of a musical rut. I feel as though I haven't discovered any new music in ages. If you have any suggestions, please pass them along.

Thanks to one of my friends, I just discovered The Rosebuds. Why have I never heard of them before?
Enjoy.
